“To my mind, the greatest reward and luxury of travel is to be able to experience everyday things as if for the first time, to be in a position in which almost nothing is so familiar it is taken for granted.” Bill Bryson
Travel heightens our emotions and our senses. The smell of the spice market awakens the saliva glands from a deep slumber and the pungent odour of the fish market settles deep into the back of the throat, unable to be washed away by a swig of bottled water. The fruit and vegetables are brighter and the choices more interesting. The textiles vibrate with colour and texture. The faces of the locals are etched with a life different to mine, sometimes harder and often more exoctic- or so it seems.
So join with me on my journey to Vancouver, Osooyos, Alaska, Portugal and Spain as I experience new cultures, different food and meet wonderful people!
